California Wildfires Live Updates: New Blaze Ignites in Hollywood Hills

Multiple fires are currently raging across Los Angeles County, leading to extensive evacuation orders. Tragically, at least five individuals have lost their lives, and numerous others have sustained injuries as several wildfires have ignited throughout Southern California, exacerbated by exceptionally dry and windy conditions.

Tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated as the Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades area has consumed nearly 16,000 acres and remains uncontrolled. This fire has resulted in the destruction of at least 300 structures, with over 13,300 additional properties now at risk.

In a separate incident, the Eaton Fire, which ignited several miles from the Palisades Fire in Altadena, has expanded to over 10,000 acres and is currently at 0% containment.

Additionally, the Hurst Fire has emerged northeast of San Fernando, burning approximately 700 acres. In Acton, the Lidia Fire has affected 50 acres, while the previously active Woodley Fire has been brought under control as of early evening.

Despite some progress, five distinct fires remain active, including the Sunset Fire, which ignited shortly before 6 p.m. local time in the residential area of Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.
