Beyoncé delivered an unforgettable performance during the halftime of an NFL game, which was streamed on Netflix as part of the platform’s Christmas Day doubleheader on Wednesday.
Although the games did not meet fans’ expectations in terms of excitement, the 43-year-old artist captivated the audience with an electrifying show, despite facing criticism for a controversial gesture.
Taking the stage at NRG Stadium in her hometown of Houston, where the Texans faced off against the Baltimore Ravens, her performance included appearances by notable artists such as Post Malone and Shaboozey, along with her daughter, Blue Ivy. This event also marked the first live performance of several tracks from her new album, “Cowboy Carter,” which received enthusiastic reviews, with fans suggesting it could have easily been a Super Bowl halftime show.
Beyoncé Secured an Impressive Fee for Her 15-Minute Performance
Reports indicate that Beyoncé earned an impressive $20 million for her 15-minute performance, part of a three-project agreement valued at $60 million that she signed with Netflix in 2019. She previously received $20 million for her first project, a concert documentary titled “Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé,” leading insiders to speculate that she earned another $20 million for the halftime show on Wednesday.
“If this is accurate, then that amounts to $20 million specifically for this halftime performance,” stated Dan Ruchie, founder of Trapital, in an interview with Andscape.
