Rick Harrison, a prominent figure from Pawn Stars, has publicly expressed his sorrow following the untimely passing of his 39-year-old son, Adam, who is believed to have died from a fentanyl overdose. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Rick remarked, “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose. The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously.”
The unfortunate news was initially reported by TMZ, prompting the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to launch an investigation to gather further information. A statement from the family spokesperson, Laura Herlovich, conveyed the family’s grief: “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”
Adam, the second child of Rick from his initial marriage to Kim Harrison, did not make an appearance on Pawn Stars; however, he was employed at the family business, Gold & Silver Pawn, prior to the show’s debut in 2009.
Rick expressed his deep affection through a touching tribute on Instagram, sharing a photograph of himself and Adam smiling together at a bar, accompanied by the caption, “You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam. ”.
The increasing incidence of overdose fatalities linked to fentanyl is concerning, as data from the CDC indicates a 56.6% rise from January 2020 to 2021. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Harrison family during this challenging period.
