Oleksandr Usyk has defeated Tyson Fury for a second time in Riyadh to remain the heavyweight champion of the world and the undisputed king of the boxing ring, this time doing it by unanimous decision.
All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in Usyk’s favour.
Usyk had won their previous fight earlier this year by split decision, having managed to land some mighty blows against the previously unbeaten Fury, and at the rematch he came out on top once again.
While Fury had declared that boxing fans could ‘watch me go to work on this f**ker’, it was Usyk’s fists that once again proved why they’re the best in the business as they did a job on Fury.
After his defeat last time around, Fury promised to cut down on the showboating and the joking before the fight, but it ultimately did him no real favours as Usyk came out on top once more.
Before the fight the Ukrainian’s camp had been concerned about the size of Fury’s beard, though boxing officials confirmed that everything was OK for the pair to knock seven shades of s**t out of each other.

The fight started in a somewhat cagey manner as each fighter tried to find an opening and throw their punches, with Usyk’s arms moving near constantly in an attempt to counter the superior reach of Fury.
Fury had won the previous three rematches of his career, but ultimately couldn’t find what he needed to defeat Usyk and avenge his previous defeat. The Ukrainian was just too good.
While Fury looked better in the opening rounds of the fight, just as he did last time he fought Usyk, the champion stayed in it and looked increasingly impressive as the fight went on.
Fury seemed to struggle more and more the longer the fight went and it was here that Usyk landed some solid punches.
In the end the story of the second fight ended up being reasonably similar to the way the first went, it went to a dozen rounds and Usyk grew into the fight as it went on.

In round 11, Usyk landed a couple of very important blows to Fury’s head while Fury seemed like his tank was draining and the veritable man-mountain looked to be lumbering.
By the end of the fight it was clear that Usyk was in the ascendancy, and the judges all agreed that he’d had the best of it.
Since he remains undefeated, the next question for Usyk is whether he will ever step into the ring with an opponent that manages to defeat him or if it will be time, that undefeated opponent, which ultimately spells an end to the 37-year-old’s career.
Usyk celebrates his 38th birthday next month and the question of how long he can keep this up will no doubt be hanging over his career, but such is the case for every great boxer.
While he said he’d want to go home and have a rest, Usyk was confronted in the ring by Daniel Dubois who appeared to want to be the next man to fight the champion.
The win means that Usyk has done the double over Fury in heavyweight boxing, which is an incredibly impressive feat that must surely leave fans of the sport in no doubt as to who the finest heavyweight boxer in the world currently is.
Meanwhile, just as speculation over what Usyk does next is inevitable the question hanging over Tyson Fury is where he goes from here.

Tyson Fury has revealed exactly how much money he has in the bank, ahead of the Usyk rematch on Saturday night.
The boxing star has been open about his astonishing financial situation, after revealing that money is his main motivator for getting in the ring.
And he’s set to land another huge paycheck this weekend (December 21), as he takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the second time this year.
The Gypsy King suffered one of the biggest setbacks of his career in May, after his shock loss to the Ukrainian boxer – which saw him lose his belts and undefeated professional record.

But prior to stepping back into the ring on Saturday night, the star revealed just how much money means to him.
During a recent press conference, the boxer was asked to share his thoughts on former boxer Andy Lee saying it’s hard to accept defeat.
He replied: “Andy Lee never had £200million in his bank to make him happy, did he? So what is my goal, and what is my target?”
After revealing the eye-watering amount, he added: “It’s not a belt. It’s not a legacy. It’s not a boxing fight. It’s to make as much money as possible.”
Fury also admitted that he wants to fight for as long as his body will let him.
He said: “I’ve got to have as many fights as I can until the wheels fall off and I’m 50 years old, crippled with a stick, walking down the street. That’s how I’ll be.”
The boxer admitted that his first question about any fight is how much the pay check is.

Money hungry, he said: “I’ve had 40 professional fights, and I was in every single one of them for the money.
“If I wasn’t getting paid, I wouldn’t have done any of them. I do it for the dough, but I’m the only one that will tell the truth.”
Fury noted that he wasn’t bothered about ‘fame’ or being ‘on TV’ – emphasising his mind was on cash.
But this isn’t the only news that shocked boxing fans prior to the fight.
In an interview with boxing presenter Dev Sahni on Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, the boxer also revealed that he hasn’t spoken to wife Paris Fury in three months.
Fury said: “I’ve not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I’ve sacrificed a lot.
“It will be worth it, 100 percent.”

With Tyson Fury set to come up against Oleksandr Usyk after losing his first ever fight against the Ukrainian Heavyweight, the Mancunian boxer is reportedly on the way to ‘lose £29 million’ of his earnings from the fight.
Now, Fury is not exactly scrounging for pennies, as he earned a reported £85 million in his first fight with Usyk back in May, and £65 million for his tight exhibition match with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
Despite this though, no one would be overly pleased to find out they are supposedly set to leave almost £30 million on the table in their next fight.

This is about half of his reported £60 million purse for the rematch, in which he will attempt to reclaim his WBC, WBA, WBO, and Ring Magazine titles.
Though Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in almost 25 years when he defeated Fury in their fight earlier this year, he has since relinquished the IBF Heavyweight title.
Usyk did this in order to allow a rematch with Fury rather than fight the mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois, who is the current holder of the title.
Now the context is set you will be asking, why is it that Fury is set to lose about half his earnings?
The answer, unsurprisingly, is an undefeated member of the boxing community – the taxman.
The ‘Gypsy King’ will have a lot of tax to pay (Justin Setterfield via Getty Images)
According to data analysts with JeffBet, per the Manchester Evening News (MEN), Fury is set to pay 47% in taxes to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. This is due to income tax and national insurance obligations when he returns to the UK, which will see just over £28 million of Fury’s prize money be paid.
The data analysts told the MEN: “Good tax advice is always important and in this case you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial.”
Based on the lead up to the fight, you would think that yesterday’s face-off was a staring contest, with the loser being forced to be the one who gave back the £29 million.
Usyk and Fury engaged in a nearly 11-minute stare-down that had to be separated.
When asked about the rematch, Fury said: “A little bit more focus if anything. More laser focus and not as much clowning. If I take them two things to the game-plan then that would be a bit more successful. There’s not big margins here.

“They only gave it to him by a point, [it could’ve been] a split decision either way, draw, whatever. So there’s not massive things we could easily change.
“But how about this one? How about I took that 10-8 round away in round nine? It’s not a draw anymore is it or a win by a point, it’s a clear win. A little bit less fooling and a little bit more focus, laser focus and I should do the job.”

Fans think Tyson Fury could have ‘tricked’ everyone during the weigh-in for his fight against Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday (21 December).
Fury and Usyk are set to re-enter the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night, with a ring walk of around 10.55pm GMT planned.
It’s the second time the pair have been in the ring together, with the Ukrainian handing Manchester-native Fury his first career loss in their first bout back in May 2024.

A close fight, Usyk won by split decision with two judges giving the result to him while a third said that Fury had edged it.
Ahead of the fight, the pair had a weigh-in at Wonder Garden on Friday (20 December) evening.
While Fury weighed in at 20st 1lb (281lb), Usyk is now two pounds heavier than he was back in May, weighing 16st 2lb (226lb).
The difference in weight means that Fury is now just under four stone heavier than Usyk and 19lb heavier than he was in May.
However, fans were quick to notice that Fury appeared to be wearing multiple layers of clothing, meanwhile Usyk also stayed fully clothed.

One wrote: “I mean, Fury with all his clothes and shoes on including a leather jacket. He’s probs around 270-273,” while another said: “He’s wearing clothes, without clothes he probably is weighing around 277 which is about what he weighed in the wilder rematch.”
And a third added: “Tyson Fury 281 pounds in full clothing with a heavy jacket. Nearly 20 pounds more than the May meeting with Oleksandr Usyk.”
A fourth pointed out: “What’s going on here why are they doing weigh ins with clothes on? Fury got a whole leather jacket on tf?”
Some claimed that Fury had worn the layers to ‘get into Usyk’s head’ prior to the fight.
Meanwhile, over on his promoter’s social media, Queensberry Promotions wrote: “That @tysonfury weight difference.
“All the preparation is finished. Tomorrow two of the best heavyweights will clash once again.”

Boxing promotor Frank Warren says Oleksandr Usyk will not be allowed to bring a specific item along with him to the ring for his upcoming rematch against Tyson Fury.
The Ukrainian, 37, defeated the ‘Gypsy King’, 36, via split decision back in May and was crowned the division’s first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000.
Fury looked to be in control of the fight and almost stopped Usyk in the sixth round. However, his undefeated opponent landed a clean shot on Fury’s nose in the eighth and dominated the ninth.

Just a day away from the highly-anticipated rematch, Fury and Usyk are locked in a dispute over a replacement official.
Fernando Barbosa was named as one of the three judges set to score the fight, but he has not travelled to Saudi Arabia due to illness.
Although officials Steve Weisfeld and Ignacio Robles have flown over, it appears the two boxers cannot agree on which judge should take Barbosa’s spot.
With the fight currently up in the air, Warren has since come out with an update on ring rules after Usyk would kiss his cross necklace in his corner after each round in the first fight.
There was even speculation that the cross was, in fact, an inhaler, which proved to be false.
To avoid rumours being spread, the promoter has made it clear that water will be the only thing that touches the lips of both fighters in the upcoming fight.
He told Sky Sports News: “After the fight there was a lot of speculation, they weren’t sure what it was. We just cut through it all.
Usyk was seen kissing his cross in the first fight (TNT Sports)
“If there’s anything that is used other than water that goes to the fighter’s lips, then the inspector will take it away and hold it and if anything is seen to be not correct then they’ll deal with it, test it, whatever that may be, what they have to do.”
Meanwhile, orthodox Christian Usyk has explained: “This cross was a present from the chief monk in one of the Greek monasteries, where I go. This cross gives me strength and leads me to victory. I feel the love of the God of the Father from Paradise.
”I see myself as a man who sins, a sinner and I need help to overcome my sins. What were my sins in that fight? The main sin was that I hit him in the face.”
